Enhance Portrait: Better Input for Better Smile Designs

High-quality input is essential for creating reliable, realistic smile design results. However, capturing the perfect patient portrait is not always possible.

Lighting conditions may vary, the white balance may be incorrect, the background may be distracting, or the image resolution may not be ideal. Since Smilecloud’s output depends on the quality of the uploaded image, these factors can affect the final result.

To help address this challenge, we are introducing Enhance Portrait, a new AI-powered step within the Smile Design workflow.

Improve your portrait before starting the design

When creating a Smile Design, you can now enhance the patient portrait directly inside Smilecloud before continuing with the design process.

The enhanced version can include:

• Improved image resolution for a clearer, more detailed portrait
• Corrected white balance for more natural and consistent colours
• Background removal to reduce distractions and keep the focus on the patient

Once the enhancement is complete, you remain fully in control. You can review both versions and choose whether to continue using the original portrait or the AI-enhanced image.

Enhance Portrait is designed to make the Smile Design process more flexible, especially when the original photography conditions are less than ideal.

It does not replace good clinical photography. Instead, it provides an additional tool to improve the available image and create a stronger starting point for your design.
