A two-day Smilecloud event in Timișoara focused on clinical judgment, digital workflows, and the decisions that shape better treatment plans.

Some events are built around a program.
/critical is built around a question.
What is truly critical in a treatment plan?
On September 11–12, 2026, Smilecloud will welcome clinicians from around the world to Timișoara, Romania, for /critical: The Meeting 2026, a focused two-day event created for practitioners who want to think more clearly, design more intentionally, and approach complex cases with greater precision. The meeting is organized together with Straumann and centers on clinical judgment, diagnostic thinking, and the role of digital tools when they are applied to the decisions that truly shape outcomes.
In every treatment plan, there is a point that carries more weight than the rest. A detail that quietly defines the direction of the entire case. It may be a bone level, a lip line, an occlusal plane, a restorative limitation, or a biological constraint. Once that critical factor is identified, the plan becomes clearer. The design becomes more intentional. The conversation becomes more meaningful.
That is the purpose of /critical.
Not more noise.
Not more complexity.
A sharper way to see the case.
Digital dentistry continues to evolve quickly. New tools, new workflows, and new capabilities are changing the way clinicians diagnose, communicate, and deliver treatment. But technology alone does not create better decisions. It gives better clinicians more power to act on them.
/critical: The Meeting 2026 is designed around that idea. The event will explore how experienced practitioners identify the key factor in a case, understand its clinical consequences, and design around it with purpose. Sessions will include clinical thinking, case walkthroughs, real-world complexity, and the way Smilecloud technology can translate diagnosis into a digital blueprint.
The focus is not only on what can be done.
It is on what should be done first.

This is an intimate meeting by design.
The goal is not exclusivity for its own sake, but depth. /critical is intended for clinicians who already work with Smilecloud as part of their daily clinical workflow. Because the room shares a common foundation, the conversation can move faster and go deeper. Participants already understand the tools, the language, and the challenges. That allows the discussion to begin where most meetings usually end: with complex decisions, interdisciplinary thinking, and the clinical reasoning behind the plan.
It is a rare format. Focused, practical, and built for people who are already doing the work.
The speaker lineup brings together a carefully selected group of surgeons, prosthodontists, orthodontists, and dental technicians from across Europe, the United States, South America, and beyond. The names are important, but the real value is in their thinking. Each speaker brings a distinct way of reading cases, structuring decisions, and connecting clinical judgment with digital execution.

The 2026 edition also marks a special moment: ten years since Smilecloud was incorporated. What began in 2016 as a belief that smile design could be transformed by intelligent software has grown into a global community, a product suite, and a clinical ecosystem shaped by the people who use it every day.
Hosting /critical in Timișoara brings that story home. This is the city where Smilecloud began, and where the workspace continues to be developed. Timișoara itself is a fitting setting: elegant, creative, historically rich, and increasingly connected to technology, design, and innovation.
The meeting will take place at Iulius Town Congress Hall, located within the Iulius Town complex in Timișoara and close to Smilecloud’s offices. The venue is part of one of the city’s main business and lifestyle hubs, with restaurants, cafés, hotels, shops, and green spaces all within walking distance.
For attendees traveling in, Timișoara Traian Vuia International Airport is located about 15 minutes by car from the venue, with Uber and taxi options readily available. Alternative airports include Budapest and Belgrade, both around three hours away by car.

/critical: The Meeting 2026 is not built to be the largest event in dentistry.
It is built to be one of the most focused.
For two days in Timișoara, the conversation will center on the decisions that define treatment. What to see. What to prioritize. What to design around. What to leave out. And how to use digital tools not as decoration, but as a way to bring clinical thinking into sharper focus.
For Smilecloud users who want to go further, this is the room to be in.
