On September 11–12, 2026, Smilecloud will welcome clinicians from around the world to Timișoara, Romania, for /critical: The Meeting 2026, a focused two-day event created for practitioners who want to think more clearly, design more intentionally, and approach complex cases with greater precision. The meeting is organized together with Straumann and centers on clinical judgment, diagnostic thinking, and the role of digital tools when they are applied to the decisions that truly shape outcomes.

It may be a bone level, a lip line, an occlusal plane, a restorative limitation, or a biological constraint. Once that critical factor is identified, the plan becomes clearer. The 2026 edition also marks a special moment: ten years since Smilecloud was incorporated. What began in 2016 as a belief that smile design could be transformed by intelligent software has grown into a global community, a product suite, and a clinical ecosystem shaped by the people who use it every day.

Hosting /critical in Timișoara brings that story home. This is the city where Smilecloud began, and where the workspace continues to be developed. Timișoara itself is a fitting setting: elegant, creative, historically rich, and increasingly connected to technology, design, and innovation.

The venue

The meeting will take place at Iulius Town Congress Hall, located within the Iulius Town complex in Timișoara and close to Smilecloud’s offices. The venue is part of one of the city’s main business and lifestyle hubs, with restaurants, cafés, hotels, shops, and green spaces all within walking distance.

For attendees traveling in, Timișoara Traian Vuia International Airport is located about 15 minutes by car from the venue, with Uber and taxi options readily available. Alternative airports include Budapest and Belgrade, both around three hours away by car.
